Once a referral is received, Helen will review the information provided and make contact with the individual, family, whānau, or referrer (as appropriate) to discuss needs, goals, and whether the service is a good fit.
The next steps may include:
Initial Contact : A brief conversation to gather further information, answer questions, and discuss service options.
Assessment and Planning: Where appropriate, an initial session or consultation will be arranged to explore goals, strengths, support needs, and preferences.
Recommendations: Recommendations will be made regarding ongoing music therapy, clinical supervision, consultation, training, or alternative supports if another service would be more suitable.
Service Commencement: If proceeding, sessions will be scheduled and a personalised plan developed collaboratively.
If there is a waiting list, this will be discussed during initial contact. Every effort is made to respond to referrals promptly; however, response times may vary depending on service demand and capacity.
