Grounded in evidence-based receptive music therapy and lived experience of chronic illness, this programme acknowledges illness can reshape our relationship with music. Together, we explore pacing, sensory needs, fatigue, grief, identity and hope. Thoughtfully curating music to support regulation, meaning, and quality of life in ways that honour your body and experience of illness.

    • Two individually curated therapeutic playlists

    • Written guidance for intentional use

    • Follow up check in and refinement

 

Music Therapy for End of Life Care

Music therapy can offer comfort, meaning, and connection during the final stages of life. At Attuned, sessions are guided by the individual and their whānau, creating space for reflection, expression, and gentle support through music.

  • Music may help people to:

    • regulate distress and anxiety

    • process emotions

    • strengthen connection with loved ones

    • express thoughts that are difficult to put into words

    • create meaningful legacy experiences

    Sessions are calm, flexible, and guided by the needs and wishes of the person receiving care.

    Music therapy may help ease symptoms such as anxiety, pain, breathlessness, and agitation by using carefully attuned music to support relaxation, emotional comfort, and nervous system regulation.
